Hey, that is an amazing truck that you got there. I got the same NV4500 transmission in my 1972 GMC C30 but nobody on this forum (nor Google himself :-() was able to tell me what PTO will work on the 1996 NV4500. Is there any way you can check the PTO part number on your truck? Please :-)

What I put on was the rotor that came with those suspension parts off of a 2000 K2500 (GMT-800) and it is GM: 15942195, AC Delco: #177-1038 Stock: 12.5 in x 1.535 in Current: 12.795 in x 1.5 in When I need to replace the front brakes I will likely move to the GMT-800 DRW front rotors, P/N's: 15733625/#177-878 which are the exact same dimensions as current. Where they differ is in the thickness of the wear surface, the DRW ones are much thicker. Visually the region of the rotor where the vanes are is half as wide. |

Re: 1996 GMC K3500 DRW, Extended Cab, Flatbed, 454, NV-4500
Thanks for the PM. I gonna post this for reference. 99-00 GMT800 knuckles have a different tie rod taper than 01-07. It is very hard to locate a set of used 99-00 knuckles, and they are superseded to the later ones by gm. I already have a set of 01-07 knuckles.
I will most likely have a GMT400 outer tie rod shortened and machined to M14, and use a standard 01-07 outer tie rod. When I do this, I will post a build thread and parts used. |

Just found this looking for cab swap ideas. I have a 98 k2500 and my only thing I'd the wiring. The 98 is a 6.5 TD and my parts 97 k1500 is a 5.7L. how did you go about the wiring?

Swapped all of my wiring into the donor cab. Pulled both dashes, set them on sawhorses, removed the ducting and parts I needed to give me access to the harness and swapped them.
