Intake question

I have a chance to pick a 85 350 block casting #14010207. My main question is it has a tunned port injection set up on it but something is wrong with it I guess. The block has good compression in all cylinders. I have a edelbrock performer rpm intake with carb. Would it work on that block? Or is that the first year they switched the heads, because of the tuned port? I know they started to use different heads in the later years, and the older intakes wouldn’t fit. I won’t have a chance to see it until this weekend to answer my question. Thanks

Re: Intake question

One piece rear main switched in '86. The heads with the different head bolts started in '87. As long as its the older style, the intake will work just fine.

Even if it is an older block, a PO might have put newer heads on it. Until you can see it, assume nothing.

Re: Intake question

If the heads are the original 1985 heads, then your Edelbrock Performer RPM #7101 intake will bolt up.

1985 was the first year for the TPI and the ECM was a POS. That could be what is wrong with it.
