help with audio

Hi all, could use some help from the audio experts. Just got an old Kenwood deck that was in a '72, am/fm cassette with pre-outs. I'd like to get 2 new 4" speakers that I'll mount under the stock dash grill as well as add an amp and sub. I'm thinking an inexpensive powered sub. Will use a FM modulator tied to bluetooth so I can use an ipod for tunes, I understand this should be better sound than the type where you just tune to specific FM station. Is it as simple as that or are there things here that won't work or specific types of speaker or powered sub I need?

Kenwood krc-1007 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00005T3OM

was thinking of this powered sub. Kenwood KSC-SW11 https://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-Low-P.../dp/B00VQSDNYU

FM inline modulator - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e%22%3EScosche

bluetooth - https://www.amazon.com/Fusion-MS-BT1...+stereo+dongle

Haven't picked out 4" speakers yet.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Re: help with audio

Question, are you doing this for the cassette deck?

If not these days online (amazon, eBay, etc.) you can pick up a pretty decent brand name single din head unit with Bluetooth, android/IPhone compatible, SD card, and USB inputs for the same price as the modulator and Bluetooth receiver. It’s not that it won’t work, should but pairing can sometimes be a hassle and the head unit will give you hands free phone functions.

Re: help with audio

Actually this may sound stupid but I'm doing it mostly for the look (albeit 80's) and to stay away from 'modern' looking technology. I actually have a newer deck with all the features that I want, but have to cut the dash and would end up with a modern look that I don't want. My hearing sucks and I don't really need quality so thought this old Kenwood would fit my needs. I'll throw it in this weekend and see how it sounds, heck maybe I just need to buy some CCR cassettes and be done with it :)

You may have already considered one of these, but if not it might be worth taking a look at (this is just an example; there are other brands):

https://www.amazon.com/Monster-MBL-A...ssette+adapter

It's a cable, not wireless connection to your iPod, which may be inconvenient. OTOH, it's cheaper and requires no new wiring.
