PIREP for Retrosound 1.5 DIN radio in K5
5 Attachment(s)
Just thought I would share my experience installing this stereo and speakers. I thought the price was a little steep but was exactly what I wanted. Installation was very easy. Came with wiring harness to plug into factory wiring.
Radio has Bluetooth and USB ports. I installed 6x9’s in boxes and put magnets on the boxes so I didn’t have to drill any holes. Running the stock paper speakers in front because I’m not sure I want to dig into getting them out. |

Thats great, I just bought a Retro Sound radio for my 72. Although I have not installed it yet.
Can you give a short review on how you like it? |

So far I like everything about it except when you try to turn knob for tuning a different station it says auto and seeks. I haven’t opened the manual yet but I’m hoping I can turn it to manual tuning.

How well does the bezel fit with it?

Re: PIREP for Retrosound 1.5 DIN radio in K5
If your asking me, I did have to use a bezel on my 72, the P.O. cut the dash for a single din modern stereo. The bezel from Retro Sound covered the hole well but did not go far enough to cover the where the indent starts for the original knobs. I need to find a bezel that is just a little wider. If anyone knows of a place to get it let me know.
But, I think your asking how HuggerOrangeBlood's bezel fits. |

Dang Hugger, with you would of posted this last week..lol.. I just added a new radio, all I was wanting was BT to play from my phone, ended up going with a Sony with the removable face an I hate it. hate the way it looks and works.
Did you get this off Amazon or E bay? As for as the front speakers its a piece of cake. take the gage bezel off, then its 4 bolts above the glove box and ash tray. May have one all the way on the end right side. Grab it and pull it up and back. Speakers up front or 3 1/2 round, you can put them in the ends or both in the middle, just take a thin piece of pleaxy glass or ply wood and mount them to that side by side. |

After using the radio a little bit I thought I would share a few things.
Installation was great and looks like the radio is supposed to be there. The Bluetooth is easy to pair and is very clear during phone calls. The buttons that store the stations are very solid and you can feel a click when depressed. I haven’t tried the USB port but don’t anticipate any problems. As stated before the unit was a little pricy but would definitely spend the money if I had to do it again. |
