Th350 kick down vortec setup?

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all,

I'm about to put my 283 with vortec heads in my '66 C10. What would be the best way to mount my th350 kick down cable bracket to an edelbrock 1406?

Thanks in advance...

Check out Edelbrock part # 8032 if you like. They are suppose to be designed to work with vortec style manifolds only. Good Luck.

Thanks for the replies. Macdaddy, that looks pretty good especially for the price. Do you have a picture of how it mounts? Are you using a vortec intake?

I've been having the same issue finding a bracket for my vortec intake. I have the chrome version for the 1406. It works but it's a little flimsy for my taste. I had the 8032 bracket too. It didn't line up on the 700r4 tv cable. I'm thinking of getting the version that has the return springs mounted on them from Jeg's.

When I put my turbo 350 in,I left the kick down cable off, will not hurt trans to leave it off,I found it safer to manually pull shifter down when I wanted it to down shift,I had my cable hooked up on one of my old trucks years ago with a pretty stout small block, nailed the throttle when in 3 Rd gear downshifted on its own, tires broke loose and away we went, damn near went in the rhubarb,so with my new 1970 with a ZZ6 crate engine,no kick down.
