how much lift needed

I am building a 1970 and was planning on using 37/13.50/22 Toyos , how much lift is needed ? It looks like a 6 inch would be close , just not sure with the wide tires

Completely depends on the wheel you choose

It also depends if you want it to flex and NOT wipe out the fenders when it does. What are the intended plans for said truck?

If it's pavement pounding without flexing it out the 37's might fit with a minor trim to the front fenders for turning clearance.

If you plan on actually taking it off road and letting it flex, 6" may not be enough with 37's. The 67-72 trucks have a much more forgiving wheel opening size but that's a big tire to stuff into a fender. If anything, the tires will self clearance if they are too tight. You'll hear it and probably not like what they look like.

I had military 37s on my 67 with a 4in lift. Not much rubbing when turning. I recently went back to 35s.

10" wheels, no. 8" wheels, might want a zero-rate. I had a 6" lift, 37/12.50 SSRs, and 8.25 wheels I was hoping would fit my '72, but changed direction. My '72 Highlander had 6" lift, 35/12.50s, and 10" wheels and they worked. I figured the extra inch in radius combined with 2" narrower wheel might cancel each other out. But, I had a zero-rate in mind, just in case.

Yers ago, I had a Blazer lifted 7" with 37/13 Swampers and 8" wheels. I romped that thing off road and never rubbed.
