Blinker question
I installed a complete wiring kit from bumper to bumper. As of now the rear marker lights come on but do not blink when I flip the indicator switch on the column. All other lights that should blink do when the turn signal switch is flipped. Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: Blinker question
Sounds like a flasher issue... I assume you have a 3-prong flasher. One of those terminals will be for the left side and another for the right. The same flasher terminals that are effectively feeding the front indicators - causing them to blink - should be t-ed and should also be feeding the rear indicators. Sounds to me like the indicators at the rear are not connected to the flasher.

Re: Blinker question
The rear marker lights come on and glow steady with the headlights, tail lights, and parking lights. They do not blink with the turn signal. Some people have modified their truck to make them blink and behave the way the front markers do, but that is not "normal".

Re: Blinker question
Agree, they should not blink.
http://outintheshop.com/faq/wiring/w...s/image003.jpg The side markers have a single filament bulb, like a 194. To blink, they would need a dual filament bulb, like an 1157. That is what you have in your front indicator lights in the grill |
Re: Blinker question
The GM cars of that era had side markers that blink and they used 194 bulbs. They share a ground that makes them alternate.

Re: Blinker question
I just read this and am glad I did. We did a rewire on my son's 69 stepside with the AAW upgrade, and the rear marker lights don't blink. I seriously thought I messed something up, but now I see I did not. Thanks guys.
