My brother Jim & I are joining the Blazer Project/Builders - We bought this two wheel drive blazer/parts over the weekend and plan to add rust free firewall/windshield frame, new blazer bedsides & new full front floor to create a new rust free body like "lks dcvn" did (New Woodall Industries full blazer rear floor not pictured but came with purchase). Nice to have the board resources. Between the two of us we hope to afford the build !

Yeah! Subscribed to this one. Congrats to you Mike!

Please reach out if you have questions along the way.

You keeping it as the 524 Red (Hugger) Orange?

Hey Mike,... I wondered if you needed these repair panels.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=756030

Also Classic Heartbeat makes some hard to find repair panels for the B pillar area of these blazers.
Well worth the money.

Yeah, We basically got a frame, body parts, title & vin tag. I think anymore that is a solid start if you want an original two wheel drive blazer !

Keith, Thanks. I just missed them. We are going to need everything not pictured in the parts to complete a new tub except firewall, windshield frame & one piece bed floor. Rocker box end caps, the parts you mention, two blazer bedsides & a blazer front floor if they make one ? Anything else ?

No Blazer floor yet - you will need to modify the truck floor at the rear where it meets the bed floor step up panel.

It will involve cutting off the rear of the panel (where the gas tank would be) and then bending up the rear floor to meet the rear floor. If you have the stock floor you can see how it should look when you get done.

Watch the progression as the 'cab' floor meets the step up and the bed floor in the pix below. The last picture is how it should look when you get done.

We have the one piece rear floor, the firewall/windshield frame, rockers, rocker boxes. We know we need rocker box end caps (are there two end caps ?). After we buy the complete truck floor, do we need any more undercarriage pieces ? Do the cab supports get removed from the truck floor ? Lookin forward to the day we get that far ! Thanks.

Look here for anything made for blazers,...

These pieces are worth the money.

Re: Two Wheel Blazer Build

There is 1 set of torsion box end caps (one per side) and then 3 other pieces of metal come together in the B-pillar.

The torsion box end caps tie into the pieces that Keith notes above. I did this work on a previous project back in 2010 when many of the aftermarket sheet metal parts below were not available.

The B-pillar stuff is easy to see starting in this post and then a bit more detail when I got the other side here.

Parts List for a new blazer
solid windshield frame
69-72 Firewall (if needed)
Cowl Panel (if needed)
outer rockers (2)
cab floor (1) - will need tweaked for blazer use or 2wd version
blazer bed floor (1)
Step Up panel between floor and bed floor (1)
Rear Wheel Housings (2)
Bedsides (2)
tailgate (1)
doors (2)
Torsion Boxes (2)
torsion box end caps (2)
B-pillar support parts (2)
B-pillar reinforcement parts (2)
Blazer Body Mount and Bolt kit (1)
Nuts/Bolts - Grade 8 - Fastenal or Tractor Supply

Most of the links above are from one spot (Classic Heartbeat) - I have purchased from several vendors (GMS Pauls, Tabco, and several different resources AMD, Goodmark, Apex, etc.) so shop around for price, shipping and customer service that fits your needs. Since much of this stuff is oversize - you may want to consider a shop closer to home to save a bit. Several of the board vendors use the sheet metal they supply so they know about updates to molds, which parts will fit and which ones to avoid. Disclaimer - many, if not all, aftermarket sheet metal parts will need to be tweaked to fit perfect. Nothing I used fit perfectly the first time.

Let me know what questions you have along the way Mike. Happy to help in any way that I can.

OMG - Tom Vogel steered me to a website called "roadster shop" ! Makes you think real hard about spending twice as much on suspension to get all new. Whoa - really nice stuff.
