My latest addiction... 1983 Hurst/Olds

I picked this one up in April from a co-worker. I wasn't even aware of them until then... the more I learned about it, the more I liked it. He drove it in high school, got it an accident in 1999 and sat there since... dug out of his backyard and drug her home. Here are the things I've done so far.

1983 Hurst/Olds 15th Anniversary, #2330 of 3001

Morning after delivery... :ito:

The latest I've done... in the future when I have the funds I plan on repainting the whole car, but for now I painted the stripes on the replaced fender to match... also going to repaint the black on from the stripes up soon and start cruising... soonly... :ito:

Also, a pic I snapped the day I put the stock wheels and raised white letter tires on...

Ooooh, I want one of those. Bad. Let me know when it is time to let that one go. I smell an LS swap.

An LS swap is cool, but a 455 goes in and everything fits..... most folks will never know till tail light time

I've thought about that... maybe some time in the future. :)

I spent the last couple of days doing a TBI conversion. Man, that really brought the little Rocket 307 to life! Runs great.

A few small things I've done...

Cleaned and 'purdied' up the tail pipes...
New park lights in the bumper...
Swapped the header panel...
Fixed the crack in the bumper cover and add stripe...

:ito:

I almost bought one of those, but I think it was an 84. Either way, looks like a nice car and your doing right by her IMO.
Good luck!

Nice score, I'm a big fan of that body style.

After I swapped out a wheel spindle and got it aligned, i've been driving it daily... Running great!

Also changed the oil and re-sealed the diff and fixed the speedometer cable.

Hopefully paint soon!

When I was about 15 this car was new. There was an Olds dealer just down the street from me. I used to go down there and drool over this car, The 83 Hurst/Olds. Then the 84 came out and I just didn't like the color of that one. The 83 is a car on my "want one" list. I actually know where one is sitting in a barn...... I can't now, but one day!

I really knew very little about these cars until this one was offered to me. Did some studying and soon became hooked. I had to get it. I'm really having a blast driving it. The shifters get a lot of reactions! Some people know others are clueless.. my favorite response is:

Is that for 4-hi and 4-low??

Sweet! I've always wanted a lightning rod shifter car but think I'd prefer a turbo regal t type of grand national. But I really love the look of the hurst olds, the paint is real cool and you rarely see them

Cool car. My car in high school was an '83 cutlass. Always liked that car but my stepdad wouldn't let me swap out the v6 for a 350 while still in high school. Had one for it but sold it for a 350 Iroc instead when I graduated. Wouldn't mind having another one, especially a. Hurst.

Always loved the Hurst Cutlass and Buick GNs. The epitome of 80's muscle cars if you ask me.
