'98 S10 4wd

My son has a regular cab. Looks pretty good, black and lifted some. The P.O. put Atlas alloys that are probably 8" with 30/9.50s. Boy do they stick out. I guess it's the RWD offset when these trucks go with FWD (big backspace). The rears stick 1/2 the tire out from under the body. Makes me wonder if he has a wider rear under there.

He bought it when he was in FL, so I wasn't involved. He's not sure what all has been done, but he thinks the guy converted it to 4wd. Thinks that's what the guy said. All I know is it must have been converted using factory stuff. I haven't looked real close, but maybe a frame swap, because it all looks factory to me. He had to replace the center link (I think) and apparently telling the parts man '98 S10 4wd got him the right part. Not sure about the rear. I guess it could be just the wheels, but seems strange when the front is usually what sits widest from the body.

The wheels are just wrong and are doing no good. So yesterday I found a deal on 5 factory alloys that look like Outlaw IIs (12 hole/rivets). He says what's on there now will rub up front. I'm thinking these wheels will tuck the tires properly and allow for 31/10.50s or maybe 33/9.50s.

No pictures of his truck yet. He may get by today. I'd like to see what others think might fit with how it sits. I think it will look good just lifted w/bigger tires, otherwise factory. Unless it's got ZR2 stuff under it I think it will look cool being narrower w/no flares

You should be able to tell if it is an original RWD or 4WD from the vin. Get some pics and I'm sure we can figure it out.

Turns out it's a 2wd body (we knew that by the VIN) on a ZR2 chassis that was wrecked. So no flares, wider stance suspension, and dish wheels.

I found him a set of factory alloys, the ones like Outlaw IIs. He put the 30/9.50s on for now and will get new tires later. Looks cool now, with sitting up like a ZR2 w/o the flares they didn't need until you put wider wheels and tires on. Everything fits!
