Id love to see a picture if you have one.

I did a google and bing image search. Personally I like em better without the hood and fender edge trim. I even like the painted ones, but mine is way to nice to paint (sacrilege lol) but I will be removing the surround trim. Ill save it for a Chevy.

Hey Allchevy58 can you tell me what the paint code and number are on your 72 GMC? I have a 70 model that says "special paint" and it looks like the same color.

Yeah, I meant "... give me first right of refusal", not "...my first right to refusal". I figure you're thinking your right to deny me! :lol: I know I'd want to hang onto that one. I was thinking that color, if not a certain custom color that is similar on my '67. I try to find colors that aren't "in" that I know will show others how good it looks and wonder why they don't see it more, and give it a second thought. But, I'm taking so long to get anything done these days that someone shows up with the look I was considering. It happened with TX Fireman's white SWB with red wheels with the '72 SWB I had, satin white with red 8" wheels and red int. I had the wheels powder coated in '05. Then I thought the metallic green that was on my son's '65 Biscayne with aqua int. Then came Tim Christian's '67 GMC Fenderside (Thanks Tim!:cool:). Now you! WhyIoughta... :cuss: Actually, I've been thinking to go with... I never tell, but I'll let you know when someone else does it! :whine:

Mark, '67 goes with no surround and with that had you can do that. Any year can as long as the old hood and header panel are used. '68 had silver painted for a more subtle look. Painting my headlight bezels black in the inset tones it down while giving a meaner more aggresive performance look, IMO. That grille with a 67/68 hood with no surround would just be right and left smaller surrounds with a bar in the center (2 bars R & L)

Ya it's all good!

My color is the original GM Dusty Gold. It's been repainted 18 years ago! I've only seen a couple of trucks with my color, but so far I'm the only one with all one color, because back in 70 my grandpa special ordered this truck and he didn't want white with the dusty gold, well they kinda listen, my grandpa got it and it had white on the tailgate where it backed "GMC". My grandpa had the dealership repaint the tailgate all dusty gold! :lol:

Here is the '72 GMC I put together back in 2010 or so. Silver upper, Charcoal lower, with a Saddle interior..... Sold it as soon as I had it done. (actually before..:)..)

I like the later grill because the black paint helps the chrome stand apart and not pushed all together. Lock I like the lower part painted black without having a divider of any kind, its a good look.

And super 10's black one proves all the chrome pushed together looks great lol ... So many nice rides, thanks everyone that's posted so far!

I also like the black in the grill but after paying alot of coin to have the grill re chromed I was not about to put black paint on it.

Hi Wade,
SPID reads 558 Dark Blue/Med Blue, Medium Blue is 510 2188 and the roof was Dark Blue 523 2366. When I repaint it, I'll go back to two tone.
