What do you think?

Well, since this is a 4x4 I'll post it here. I am/will be going to school for welding, heavy equip and transport/agricultural equip. And probably some more like, thermal dynamics, physics, business, and structural engineering. My dad wants me to build him a truck, his dream truck, with my ideas. So here is what I have planned out so far.

1964-66 Crewcab longbed
.2" wall 5"x2.5" square frame with gooseneck/5th wheel and rear hitch
.125 wall 2" DOM roll cage(hidden)
Rickson Steel 19.5x7.5 wheels with Michelin XDE2+ 285/70R19.5 tires
Dana 80 Front axle by Custom Differentials with chromoly shafts and 3.42 limited slip (Mag-Hytech cover)
Sterling 10.5 Rear axle by Custom Differentials with chromoly shafts and 3.42 posi-traction (Mag-Hytech cover)
Atlas 4-speed 5.4:1 Aluminum transfer case built to handle the power
6-speed Allison 1000 tranmission built for 1000+hp and 2500+tq
12 or 24 valve Cummins with P7100 pump and custom twin turbo kit(details not disclosed)
4-link(or 6-link) front and rear for full air suspension(bags etc undecided)
Wide high back bucket seats on swivel frames(4)
Custom built floor for more room and usability
2-piece Chromoly driveshafts (u-joints undecided)
Electric trailer brake box
Stainless steel brake/fuel lines
Large Ron Davis aluminum radiator with oil/tranny cooler built in
Air to air intercooler
Tellico full hydraulic steering
All lights LED converted and extra lights, also LED
Schaeffer Fluids in everything
100 gallon aluminum fuel tank(s)
FASS or Airdog fuel filter/pump system
Custom fiberglass panels for weight saving
Brake disc size undecided(will be vented)
2+ piston calipers(4-wheel)

Thats pretty much the start of it. As time goes on things will change. And other things will be decided, like paint, upholstery etc.

Please no negative comments.

Re: What do you think?

that is a very impressive list of parts
given the specs for the trans, I can only imagine what's in the plans for the oil burner
any timelines for this project or is this still at planning stages?

It's at planning still, I will start collecting parts as soon as possible. Basically it will be able to hold a Peterbilt on the back of it while crawling a hill face. haha

I think what Tim Meant was that it sounds like a dream truck to him. Just sounds like he agrees with you.

Re: What do you think?

Sillyoldman is right,I meant no harm.Let me clarify. It is a dream right now.One that you (and me) would like to see come true.A truck like that is a dream for me and a dream for many off us.I've dreamed up many a truck. Some I've built, some I still hope to,two I am building now.Building a SEMA truck is a dream for many of us.I didn't say "just" a dream, you did.Maybe you shouldn't ask,"what do you think",if you only want to hear "your" answer.Would you have rather I said,"Sounds like a plan"?We all post what we want to do and until we do it,it "is" a dream.Only time will tell.If you really want to do it,you'll do it.And,I'll be there with my congratulations,as I have for so many others.
