1994 1500 Rear Brake Adjustment

Hi,
I just put rear brake shoes on my 1994 c1500. The owners manual says that they are self adjusting, I just put the truck in reverse and press the brake pedal hard several times. Is this all of the adjusting I need to do to make the truck road worthy again? Thanks for any advice.

Did you do a rough adjustment when you installed the shoes? (Did you adjust them by turning the "star" so that the drum fit snug around them?) If so, then yes! :)

Thanks for the reply, Three Quarter. Yes, I did adjust the star so that there was a little "drag". Put the truck in reverse and did what the owners manual said to do. I guess I did everything correct after all!
