Really nice truck! I like the shop logos on these, my 69 has the original shop logo on it and I'm preserving it for sure!

The original painted on sign from 1969. My wife posted it on FB a year ago to find the original owner. We got lots of responses, and found the neighbor of the original owner. He recalled the truck when it was new and of course the shop. Well the owner sold the shop years ago and moved on. I never was able to locate him or his family. I sure woul though because of the history behind this truck.

Did you have this hand painted? Or are they stickers you had made?

No stickers! Boo!!! That's a good job, very convincing. Just got to have Pontiac on there, too. I have some Pontiac touches for my '67 GMC (eternal) project. Th vibe will be a hot era truck warmed over by it's GMC/Pontiac dealership mechanic owner's hands. 327 now, but would love to build this 455 I have to set in there posed as a 389.

I love this thing. I remember these type trucks running around. I had a light blue '67 shorty with L&M Produce on the doors when I was young. The dealership where I bought my parts, when you could get them, had a '65 C20 Stepside with a tow rig in it that was all lettered up sitting faded away in the corner of the back lot. I tried to buy that for years. I think it ended up going to an insider

You know what just hit me? My '72 GMC is a Central Valley truck.

You don't just do trucks. Something about anything you have says to me just how much you truly enjoy these trucks and I think that's why you are sitting where you sit today.

Who did the signage? I have an idea for mine but want it to look vintage.

Yup, a lot of people (mostly younger ones) don't remember that most GMC's were sold at Pontiac dealership, or Buick and Oldsmobile too.... and Central Valley GMC in Fresno Ca. was around for a long time....
ooooh yes, I feel like a little kid every time I strike a deal on a truck, then again when I get them home and start the transformation from a moth to a C/10 butterfly!!!! :mm::lol:

On this particular one I had a pin-striper from Modesto Ca., she (that's right she) been a striper for a long time and knows her stuff!

Now that's a winner of a picture right there!

Here is one of my past work trucks when I first built it in the '80s and on the last job it served me on years later ('03). The silver on Construction was all but faded off. It had a pinstripe job you can't see. too

The pinstriper jus re-did my dad's truck.
You could still make out a few of the letters.
Neat thing is his striping mentor striped for my dad in the day. Next is the long line work and wash rinse and repeat.

And fix some ugly rust under the cab, spent the 1st 3 years NY and it shows. Us california people are so spoiled as far as rust.

Hijack Alert!!

If I may, I'd like to share the job I dreamed up and had my buddy do on the '84 work truck I had late 80s-early 90s. Pinstripe job was done to look like cowboy boot stitching and he did a desert sunset mural on the tailgate inset (removed brushed trim panel)

Special K that is very cool, looks like lariat rope to me. He did an awesome job, also like the cactus highlights.
