1980 GMC Sierra Classic C25 with 19,000 Mile's

5 Attachment(s)
Hello Everyone,

I'm fairly new here and thought I'd share some pictures of one of my trucks. All 3 are all low mileage and great trucks, but this is becoming my favorite of the three!

The Truck was originally New from Stettler Motors in Stettler, Alberta, Canada and was Built at the Oshawa GM Truck plant in October 1979 (I still have the original yellow paper decal for the fan shroud that say's " Oshawa GM Plant - COMPLETED" with the production run number write down on it, I'm having it reproduced in a vinyl decal). Since New there has been 31,000 Km (OR 19,000 Miles for Our Friends in the USA) It's like a brand new 1980 GMC, (Not One Stone chip on the front of the hood!) minus the fact the original owner removed the hood stripes!

I have All the original: pollution pump, Carb, and Radiator, which I exchanged for performance parts. All that I installed so far is a Edelbrock 600cfm with electric choke and a BE COOL Custom Aluminum Radiator which I fully polished to a mirror shine.

I'll have to get some interior shots too..

All I can say is WOW. very nice, and I'm liking the 2 tone red. A set of GMC hubcaps would finish it off.

OMG what a small world it is . Nice Truck
I have your trucks twin , Mine has 35,000 kms on it . But mine has been repainted . I have the 454 /th400 . still have all the original equipment under the hood .

I know the body was rough as mine sat in a field near Bashaw for many years . My father in-law rescued her from his cousin that left her to die . She had won in a barrel race deal at a rodeo . She didn't like it so it sat on her farm . He got it in exchange some work he did , that was in 2004 . He replaced a fender and repainted it and it sat in his back yard in Wetaskiwin till Sept of last year . My mother in-law was tired of seeing it so I offered to take it . The Only thing he wanted me to do was make it my daily driver . So I have been doing that for him .I had to replace the rear window as some kids smashed it . I still need to detail it , get a new grill rear bumper and a few other small things . I've been waiting till spring to polish it as I have to do it outside as I have no garage .

Sorry for the Highjack but I remember when my GMC looked like that when It first came into my father in-law's shop .
I don't have any nice pics of her yet , I was waiting till I got her looking better
This one was taken in Wetaskiwin before we left

The last one is next to my Ramcharger , I was waiting till I got the GMC cleaned up before making a opening post on my stuff. I'll do that later .

Wow, that's neat. Your truck is a C25 too!

I have been trying to get all the info on this truck from GM I can. I have been trying to get a build sheet. I do have the original sales & Camper Special equipment brochure, owners manual, etc.

The inside of the passangers door looks like it had never been opened!

What I thought was neat is the little details , the steering wheel still has all the grain in the rubber all the way around, the piping on the seat isn't broken, the ignition key looks brand new, not a nick in the aluminum entry step plates they look new.

LOL, even the gas tanks are shiny!

I'm going to Edmonton next week and Wetaskiwin too , I'm going see if I can find the before pics of the paint job . Where did you find the sale's info packages? . The only stuff I have is owners manual and service log .

I wish mine looked as good as yours does .

Is it a High Sierra or Sierra Classic?

Re: 1980 GMC Sierra Classic C25 with 19,000 Mile's

Classic, it even has the Hood stripes. getting that redone in vinyl is on the list. Does your truck have the plastic "cap" on the edge lip by the windshield on the hood?

Nice truck! I think that I have seen you around town, its hard to forget a truck like that.
Did you buy that truck from a Jon Becklund?
My dad had pretty much the same truck except it was two tone grey and a 1/2 ton.

hayesperformanceplus 03-02-2010 11:43 AM

Re: 1980 GMC Sierra Classic C25 with 19,000 Mile's

No I didn't buy the truck from him.

I have driven the truck maybe 2 or 3 times this winter but then each time I spend a bunch of dollars spraying the truck off and carefully driving back. LOL

89muscletruck,

Did this Jon Becklund have a truck like mine for sale???

Re: 1980 GMC Sierra Classic C25 with 19,000 Mile's

Yah when I was growing up near Stettler a freind of my Dad's, Jon, had a truck exactly like yours. When My dad and I saw your pictures he asked me to ask you if you had bought it from him. Since it sounded like you weren't the original owner.
