Nice project for $5,500... but he has to get it running and have current tags first! It might be a rare collectible, but so are lot's of things that are only worth $100. I think most collectors in the old farm 4x4 niche are a bit more frugal and discerning! I love sturdy old 4x4 that ride rough.... at the right price!!! And maybe that's why I like the old 4x4s they're still the right price!!!

Unless it's a typo he's asking $55,000 in the ad

Looks like most typical CL adds from California, prices here are insane. I've been looking for older projects in Arizona, much better realistic prices and often times more rust free.

You couldn't buy the permits to build a junk house in California for $55,000

WOW at that price of 55,000 I would expect it to be sitting in a garage and spotless not sitting out side under a tree and maybe a pine tree at that with the bed loaded down with stuff....I'd love to have a truck like that though..

Hey, first time posting. Looking to do a 4x4 conversion on a 59 gmc. I was thinking about using straight axles from a small body blazer from around 2000. Only reason im posting here is this thread is still active and couldnt find what I was looking for. Is there a better option for axle choice as far as installation and what will I be in for as far as. Hanging steering, adding a transfer case toa muncie 4spd and such. Thanks

in my opinion, i would use running gear from a mid seventies chevy, 73-76,and use a married trans/transcase from the same ,steering box and all, your choice of 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton axles....
