how to protect harness
1 Attachment(s)
What is the best way to protect this transmission control harness from the sides of the hole. I'm all ready gonna cover the hole with dynamat which should hold the harness away from the sides of the hole but should I do more? maybe:
Zip tie some leather around the wire loom and I am gonna try and clean up the hole a little today but its still gonna be sharp. Any ideas are appreciated |
Re: how to protect harness
A quick Google search turned up this website, https://rubber-grommet.com/ I'd look through here and find something to use to protect the wires from chaffing.

How about a Split grommet?

Those at McM'carr are certainly a possibility. Gonna finish routing wires through there and see just how many I have then go one of these two routes. thanks again |
Re: how to protect harness
Lowes & Home Depot sell a package of rubber insulators for this. You may have to buy several of them though to get enough of the right sizes. They are in the electrical section where the tie wraps are. The boxes have like 8 different sizes in them I bought a couple of packs the other week myself.:chevy:

Re: how to protect harness
Take a piece of 1/4 fuel line and put a slit in it then push the slit of the hose onto the metal edge.

Re: how to protect harness
I should have said ,slit it length wise.

I'm basically finished with wiring and I'm super itchy to wrap and tie-up all this wiring I've done because it looks so bad but I've decided to wait until I've started the motor and installed the instrument cluster so If there are wiring problems I don't have to unwrap everything! Again, thanks all for the advice |
