I'm new to the forum. i have a 94 c1500 that im taking out the 4.3 and dropping in my 1995 454. which leaves me with a question about what tranny should i use?

Auto or stick guy?

4l80e would be my top choice. A 700r4 could be built up but they're known to not survive long behind big power (there are always exceptions).
A Tremec TK600 5spd/OD or T-56 if you want a stick.

Thanks Scott, the Donor truck i bought has the 4L80 with it. It seems like a very good match. I hope to set the motor in a couple weeks.

Okay here it is I have the 454 in my truck now with a 4l80 transmission my truck is a 1994 Chevy pickup standard cab two wheel drive I'm looking to find out what yoke I can use with that transmission to hook up my drive shaft to the rear end if somebody out there can help me I'd appreciate it you're a driveshaft maker in San Diego here is telling me it won't work.
