TKO 600 and Low Hump
I wonder does the tko600 fit a low hump floor? I did a lot of searching, but just didn't get a good answer. I have a '66 and the floor is low and one solid piece. The cab was originally from an automatic truck. As of now tho' I have an aging Saginaw 4 speed. It's mated to a stock cast iron bell that came with the '63 manual tranny frame I used when I assembled the truck. I'm just kinda weighing my options here as I would like to stay with a stick.

Thanks, if a 500 doesn't fit a low hump, odds are that the 600 won't either.

Re: TKO 600 and Low Hump
Externally the 500 and 600 are the same size. It's internal ratios and a couple parts that changes the torque rating (500 ft. lbs or 600 ft. lbs input torque).

Re: TKO 600 and Low Hump
I haven't got there yet. The days just fly by.
I think I'm going to fabricate a small spacer and cover it with matching red leather like the seat. It'll only be about 1-1/2" high. Then I will screw the boot to that. The carpet will be under the spacer. I may make it into a cup holder/console. If you have any good ideas, please pass them along. |
