Woah, those 19.5's are a must for any dump truck now that I've seen them, holy cow those are awesome on these little trucks. The door logo is pretty awesome, looking forward to this build, subbed

bigrigpardo's 19.5" wheels look great...I need to find 2 more 17.5 inch tires for the front yet...and I am looking forward to getting the dump bed set, hopefully soon.

I have never looked at the V6 up close...Cool. I have a Eaton HO72? with crazy gears as well, but its in the back yard under a tarp. I did seem to get the last set of brand new drums off of a shelf in Seattle...probably 15 years ago. Those are hard to come by.

Pounded out the dents, straightened the edges and put a skim coat of filler prior to primer.

Thank you...onto paint and putting it back on.

After getting it back in place, my son says that the other white trim pieces look out of place...I'll take care of that tomorrow.

I am pretty happy that Dolly got a facelift of sorts.

Busted and rusted side mirrors have to go.

Found nice replacements at Champion for about $9 each. Dolly is not much for a lot of shiny parts, so I scuffed up the chrome, and shot some white on them, like the originals were.

I am going to put "dirt" tires on the rear wheels, as this is 2 wheel drive...the street tires may struggle up and down my hills...I found wheels and cleaned them up. I'll have to wait for good weather to get the epoxy primer on them.

Here are the tires going on the back. I'll run the street tires in front.

Wow! The weather has just been terrible! Rain for days on end. Finally found a day to get the painting accomplished on the wheels. Monday, I get the new tires mounted.

Check out this rusty crossmember holding up the carrier bearing. That will have to be taken care of next. Notice the lack of exhaust pipe. A new exhaust is on the way, and should arrive about July 19th.

Only crossmember that I have is from a half ton truck. Notice the width dimension of approximately 37.25 inches. The 1 ton is approximately 34 inches as the leaf springs are on the outside of the frame. The height is the same, but I will have to come up with some elevation for mounting the carrier bearing. It is what I have, and I will fabricate this to work and hopefully not look hokey.

Inside width of Dolly's frame is 33.25". I made a "Z" cut in the half ton crossmember similar to chopping a frame to make a shortbox. I figured it would add strength.

Welded up the crossmember and shot some primer until I get at it again. There are upper brackets I have to come up with if I want it to look stock. Not sure what I'll do.

I got distracted trying to finish up the dual exhaust on the car hauler. You'll see some exhaust pipe examples on the back of the rolloff that I got from my local parts store. If you look closer, you'll also see MORE projects at different stages...I count 4. Also, more rain! I think I will sandblast the crossmember when it clears...
