sm 465
Can I use any year sm465 to mate to my 71 np205 transfercase as long as I have the adapter? When they say 10 spline and 32 spline, is that the front input shaft or rear?

Re: sm 465
10 spline rear output was most common in the 4wd. Later model trucks had the 32 spline rear output. So yeah, just about any 4wd up to '85 or 86 is what you'll be looking for

Re: sm 465
out of curiosity, is any one running an nv3500 behind their engines?

Re: sm 465
What clutch would you use for the sm465? Its gonna see some towing but mostly street use.. Engine is just about stock but has a little better cam in it with and intake and carb upgrade..

Re: sm 465
I used a Sachs clutch in mine. That is after the center hub broke on my Centerforce (no abuse or dropping the clutch). The clutch has held up great for over 15 years now with a big block and some towing.
