What tires did you buy and how do you like them, i like that size but the mud terrains are expensive.

Nice, I’ll take it. I actually painted the grill argent last weekend but my paint skills ain’t the greatest. She’s at my buddy’s body shop now getting the roof painted white and the hood stripped of all that black brushed on paint

Yokohama geolander MT. I like them a lot. Not too noisy and they balanced really well. They were pretty pricey though. But everything was in that size, not a lot of options

Hey guys finally back in the game! My dad and I bought this truck this week. It is a 1971 Cheyenne K20. Pretty neat truck with a lot of options. I know the paint scheme isn't correct but man it still looks good. Im hoping to get the top painted white this summer if our budget allows. Truck has good bones just needs some attention thrown at the details. Here's a few pictures.

The truck is supposed to be solid dark olive green with a white top. This truck is very similar to joesjunks 71 K20 minus some small differences. Here is the SPID.

Awesome truck, I'll be excited to see more pics. It's sort of the slightly older cousin to my K20.

Glad you finally found a good one Josh. I’ll have to get mine out and drive it over to check it out.

Ken, your loading pic there reminds me of when I bought my 71 C20 Cheyenne Super - nowhere near as nice of the condition yours is above, it was loaded on the top rack of the hauler - when it arrived in CA from WA, and I met the driver to unload it, I noticed the car directly under it was a Porsche 911. And its entire hood was covered with trans fluid (from my ol bessie). For once, I wasn't the dude stuck on the bottom - but it was probably a bad decision by the truck driver.. In your case, looks like a much newer, leak-free, truck on top, so you should be good! :) That's a real nice find, looking fwd to more details once is shows up!

dave6672 really hope someday that this truck will look as nice as yours. You have a time capsule there. If you look in this thread on post 819, 823, 824 there are a few more pictures. I did get the truck home on Easter and have taken probably another 100 picts. Again very nice truck you have.

Yesterday I did find the build sheet behind the seat in several pieces, so I carefully pulled back each spring and wired it to upper spring support so I could get the build sheet parts without destroying anymore than they were. This will really help in make this truck right since the truck is a GMC and was built in 9/67 there was no SPID added to the truck. A few things on the build sheet confirmed what I already thought it came with but the sheet really verifies it. The biggest surprise was the "Front Tow Hook EQ" item to the far left 3rd column. The hooks are not on there but I do have a spare set that I have saved so now they have a home. Another one that has me puzzled is the "R74" RPO code which I tried to look up on the RPO code list that Out in the Shop has and it was not on there. From the numbers on there I think it is the 17x8 split rims that are on the truck.

Here is the pieced together build sheet and one on the driveway with wheel skates on getting ready to wheel into garage.

That R74 code is the tire size, it had 7.00 x 17”, 8 ply tires. That something you don’t see very often. Very cool truck
