Thread Views versus replies, use your microphone to dictate easy reply

I've noticed that a thread will have a disproportionate amount of views to replies. An example would be my question about the trim rings for the Chevy Rally wheels. I'm thinking the 3in is appropriate but maybe the two is more appropriate and put that question out there. 84 views with one reply which was actually me responding to my own thread in a bump. I wonder if the members are doing their search of this forum on a desktop or laptop computerwhereas I do it on my phone. When I post I hit the microphone icon and simply speak to my phone. This entire message has been done that way. I then go back and check the spelling and make my corrections and post. It only takes a second I thought maybe others would reply more often if they found this way easier.

If I replied to every thread I viewed Id have as many posts as special-K. I don't have a microphone either, but your idea is a good one for people that do.

Do you use your phone to view forum?

Almost never, but I get your drift ... Never even considered that, good "call"

For those unfamiliar I've attached a screenshot of my keyboard. The microphone icon is just to the right of the word OK. This is on an Android device, Apple may be different.

Ditto. I read them all but reply on few.

I view many threads and I don't respond to them all either. I post an answer or give advice, if I don't have either to give, I'll read the responses of others, that's what forums are for, learning. Threads can also get turned sideways with responses too.
It's not a case of people not wanting to type a response, just not everyone has the answer, or not wanting to voice an opinion. I get the voice over thing, I'll use it from time to time, definitely easier.(as I type with one finger on my phone now)
I've posted my own threads in the past and have had a hundred views with no reply at all.

I'm the same, read a lot and posting infrequently. It's like you say, how forums work. Some things I simply don't have any knowledge for and therefore can't contribute to the conversation other things I may be of some help. I thought it might be because of all the one-finger typers out there or at least part of it is because of that. That's why I mention the microphone. If things are easier they're more likely to be done. At least some things. Thanks for your reply.
