67-72 frame swap under my 52 possible?
 

52 gmc on a 67-72 frame? I don't have a 67-72 to measure. I like the idea of trailing arms and ifs. Is there and other trucks that can be swaped. i have heard of s10 swaps i'll look into them more. by the way i have a 52 shortbox 5 winder. thanks

S-10 Frame would be a much easier swap as there have been several done. I put an 85 S-10 frame under a 51 Burb, channeled it about 4to6 in. the running boards at ride height with full unaltered suspension was around 6 in of groung clearence, I used a Nova,Camaro rear end. Im unsure wether or not (without measuring) that you could install a truck arm suspension.

Its been done but in my opinion the s-10 is too narrow and needs a lot of cutting (unless you have no floors now) The 64-87 is too wide. If you have a stock frame its a lot easer to build on your stock frame. In the time it takes to strip a s-10 or 64-87 you could have a IFS installed.In the time it takes to clean up the mess you could have the rear done. Most s-10 or frame swap end up costing way more that the owner ever thought and they run into so many problems that it turns into a long term project(like years) or never truely ever gets done. You will get diff anwers but i have done many of these and it just my opinion. Go out to a few shows and look at the truck that are done and decide if you have the skills. for a frame swap........if it was easy every AD out there would have a frame swap.
