PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
5 Attachment(s)
I thought I would start a thread on our latest project, so you guys can see what we are up to. We are builing a C10 truck for the upcoming season, and will hopefully have it ready late summer early fall before it's debut at SEMA 14'. I will get some more build photos up soon. But here is the rendering that Ben Hermance did for us almost 2 years ago. Here is a small little list of what we are doing to it. I look forward to your feedback and comments...good or bad.

Cool ideas just not my style. Reminds me of the 'import' scene. That's what so cool about these trucks is that they are unique to idividual style and there's no right or wrong.

Without the spoilers sure

Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
I like most of it. I prefer not to have the wheels tucked in, I want to just see the top of the tire below the fender. The front spoiler is cool, not feeling the back one.
Love the color, and the wheels are perfect for it. |
Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
at the kind of speeds you are doing in autox is the front air dam actually doing anything besides looking cool?

Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
Nice! Looks like a killer autocross machine. The local SCCA club would take years to get the twist out of their knickers that truck would give them!

140 mph+ it would start to dance a little. Which makes the back side clinch up some seat material. So we "needed" some aero. The hard part is making it look good on the truck. |

Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
Looks awesome...I like the deep dish rims.
Where are you guys located in HB? I come down a couple times a year to visit family. It would be cool to stop by your shop. Wish I could drive my 67 stepper down to SoCal. You have any interior pictures of "Phillips 69"? |

I know the rear spoiler has to be there and be functional, and maybe the drawing doesn't show it well enough, but it looks "off". It doesn't quite look like the Nascar ones, which I think is what I would expect to see. |
Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
Great truck! If I was doing it, and I had all the time and money I wanted, I'd make the rear spoiler powered. Controllable from the cab. With a rear tonneau cover, make the last 12" or so curves up to the exact shape your see in the rendering. Kind of like the high end supercars do with either computer controls or manual controls. If you're clever enough, you could do the same with the front spoiler. Look stock, or mild custom. Then boom, with the flick of a switch, race ready. Love those wheels. Those are the first wheels I've seen that make me consider something other than standard aluminum or chrome. Can't wait to see it when it's done.

My first thoughts were 'talk about bringing a picture to life'...
Very cool build, love the color combo too. I like Hawghauler's idea, the supercars have a speed sensor for their wings and I'm sure that can be integrated into your build fairly easily. So many truck I hope to see in person on these boards and this is definitely one of them! MOD |
Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
Like the wheels...Different/

Re: PCHRODS Build : Project C10R
Active Aero, would be incredible to have unfortunetly the budget doesn't quite demand it. Especially since a full function setup ranges from $5,000-15,000. One of the guys on our circuit runs one on his 68 camaro, and it's pretty amazing what it helps the car do. But for me....gonna have to add it to santa's list.
