Ride height question

Without removing the shock and measuring the compressed and extended length, is there another accurate way to measure for shocks?

I have a 72 k10 suburban, 5.3/4L80E front and rear seats and need to replace the shocks. Don't know what the stock k10 values are, I have the diagram for the c10 but I was told the k10s were lifted from the factory. Thinking I'm can get away with an approximate because I'm going with rancho 5000x (unless someone steers me away) and on their options they sell shocks for 0-2 inch lift, 2-4, etc....

Re: Ride height question

That would be the best way, but you could measure the shock as installed and then call the manufacturer of your shock of choice and discuss your options and possible future plans you have for modifications.
