Tires

What's the biggest tire guys are able to use on stock rally wheels and without chopping the truck bed? I'd like bigger back tires and stock up front . Thanks in advance

I'm running 275/60's on an 8" rally. That's with a '71 5 lug rear end. The fit is right on the money

The tires are Cooper Cobras, they were $300 cheaper than BF Goodrichs.
The front tires are 225/70 15. Fronts are mounted on 6 1/2" rallys.
Thanks for the compliment on my truck!

I'm not running rally's, but if you find one that would fit a 295 width tire, it should fit without chopping anything up. You'll just need the right backspacing to get it to fit. I'm running 295s on a 10" wide wheel with 5.5" backspacing on a stock 71 width rear.

Thanks. The front has a 3 1/2 in drop (2 1/2" drop spindle and 1" drop coil) from Early Classic Enterprises. The back has about a 5" drop on it. Its a leafspring rear and was done by one of the previous owner so its hard to tell for sure. I added the front drop kit after i bought it to convert from drum to disc. My buddy's 72 has the 3 1/2" front 5" rear drop from Early Classics and his is a coil spring rear setup and they sit pretty close to the same height which is why I stated I have a 5" drop on mine.

I've got 2 1/2" drop spindles and 3" drop springs in the front and 5" drop springs and 2" lowering blocks in the rear. That makes it a 5 1/2, 7" lowering overall. I do have the c notch in the rear frame. Thanks for the compliment!

I currently run 275/60/15 cooper tires and they look sharp. Will get a set of BFG soon.
