I think Tom said it weighed 3300 with an aluminum headed bigblock and a driver but at the time it had roll pans, and no tailgate!

4x4Poet 04-18-2005 05:22 AM

Awesome drag pic!

I'm luvin the cage and all its tie-ins. Great design.

djracer 04-18-2005 08:27 AM

Stroker I love that pic and I always have! I have called Tom a hundred times asking questions so my 71 would work like this truck! I called him friday and he made me an offer I couldn't refuse! I am going to race it like it is for this year and maybe put it on a diet, and change it to a fleet over the winter!

Touch of madness Its only a trailer queen cause it has no motor or tranny! It will be driven on the streeet as well as down the track!

67ChevyC10Stepside 04-27-2005 11:41 AM

dont change it to fleet....it's SOOO MUCH cooler like it is...

djracer 04-27-2005 12:09 PM

that's one sweet truck, and you'll have one heck of a time in it i'm sure.

rambler 04-27-2005 12:35 PM

WOW,, thats all I can say!

Billy G 04-27-2005 04:55 PM

Are the steering column and dash assembly for sale????....lol

Great Lookin' Truck!!!!!!!!

68 Stepside 04-27-2005 07:22 PM

AWESOME!!! I've always loved that truck. And for your question on the rage'nrat.....the 638 is CRAZY...been there, done that, glad to still be living after that ride.... LOL

Peregrine 04-27-2005 08:12 PM

If you're gonna drive it on the street I would pay good money to see peoples faces when you pull the wheels at a light. I have a lot of evil thoughts going through my head.

67ChevyC10Stepside 04-27-2005 09:28 PM

i dont have the money for the bed...but 67dragtruck is a step....thats just how everyone knows it....every freakin truck out there is a fleet...nice to see one that's different

FirstGen 04-27-2005 11:32 PM

junk the step, that's just keeps one less one on the road like mine!!! haha j/k.

68LSS1 04-28-2005 12:54 AM

djracer, got any pictures of the bed? And what did Tom use to seal the extensions (cage) that are through the firewall?

rwgregory 04-28-2005 02:57 AM

Cup holders & power windows on a strip machine??? Stereo speakers in the
doors???

I must be gettin' old or something...

I admired Tom's truck for years but its going to get a new look! I don't want anything like is not uniquely mine! I'll include a pic of my last race car! It was nicer outside but not as nice as the truck chassis wise! It went 9.20 @ 143 with a alcohol injected 468.

Rw
Those are a couple of things I'm not crazy about but is great for street use! If I can finish my really nice street truck I will put this truck on a serious diet!

NPilot1975 04-28-2005 09:04 AM

Beautiful car. I love old Camaros. They look sweet as Pro-Streeters.

67ChevyC10Stepside 04-28-2005 11:20 AM

yeah what your saying about unique is fine....but the stepside is just sexy....fleetside is plain as hell...

djracer 04-28-2005 11:24 AM

Yeah and you know the old saying about opinions!

67ChevyC10Stepside 04-28-2005 11:33 AM

well i mean look around....how many fleets do you see compared to steps...that's all im saying...i know when i first saw the truck i thought it was cool but the thing i noticed first was it was a stepside...pretty cool cause it's not the same old truck everyone else has.

djracer 04-28-2005 01:17 PM

Its ccol because of lots of reasons but in my eyes the step bed is less aerodynamic and takes away from the truck! I'll post pics of my progress as I go! I hope to take a nice truck and make an AWESOME truck!

JerseyGirl 04-28-2005 02:00 PM

That is AWESOME!! :metal:

kwhite4 04-28-2005 03:48 PM

Lucky dog.

I would take that bed if you werent so far away.

Have fun :metal:

dj;
I see what you meant in our recent phone conversation! I MAY need to rethink my 67....when I become less broke!

This might not look like much progress

But you should have seen my shop a couple of monthes ago! Me and several of my buddies threw away 60 plus yards of crap! Now it time to get down to business! I am going to sell this bed if anyone is interested! I'd take 800 with the aluminum wing new tailgate aluminum bed cover and new chrome rear bumper!
