Round 2

Well I lasted 6 months with out my 67. Sold the custom job in the spring.

Old Blackie went to a great home in Winterpeg.

Last night I bought a 1967 C10 long box. I never really liked the custom
short box except it was fast. Now I can use my truck for daily life.

Going to take it all apart this winter and get R done.
It has the OEM 327 and it looks like a standard was put in it.

:chevy:

Will get some pics soon.

Hey Bob,

I picked it up east of Toronto. Swing by this weekend and take a look if you want.

I need a windshield and a welder lol

It was dark when I bought it cold turkey so I hope tonight when I look it is a Muncie.

First question is my option sheet reads K wheels upgrade.
Anybody know if these are the wheels on it? With GMC Hubs instead of the bow tie hubs

Re: Round 2

No, not those wheels. Those are rallies and weren't available until 73 or 74.

Yeah it is in better shape then I thought.
Front windshield has to come out to fix rust and replace it with the nice
Tinted one. It is cracked
And the bed is coming off to oil everything and spray the frame down.
And it leaks oil like a Ford and runs like crap. So major tune up on motor in the
Spring time.

The muncie and saginaw look simular. Trying to figure out what I have.
Any experts want to help?

you have to tell from the side cover bolt locations/count.

Re: Round 2

Thanks for the link that is a good one!

Well there is nothing like the garage floor when it is -10 outside.
But I solved a few things. First I noticed only 2 shift rods. It is a 3 speed!! I was starting out in 3rd gear:ito:

So it has 7 bolts on the side cover. And the speedo bullet is on the driverside.

So I think I have it down to Muncie 351 or Sag 343. But not sure which one??

It reads 15x550 k wheel equipped

I tried Google but not sure which one it is.

Anybody have a pic of what wheel they are?

most likely a Saginaw three speed. Was likely on "the tree" when stock.

Not sure what year they made the Saginaw 3 speeds fully synchronized so you might have a fully synchronized one (SM326) or earlier.

Perhaps someone else here knows offhand when the fully synched one came in to use.

Re: Round 2

OK thanks
It says 3 speed sync on the build sheet, so I hope that
Is what I have.

Re: Round 2

Does it run better starting out in first? LOL There's a good thread on adjusting the 3 speed column shift if it tries to hang up on you.

If you don't have an answer on the trans yet, I believe that that era Muncie is an aluminum case, and the Saggy has an iron case.

Oh- Nice Truck!
