Help deciding!

Hey guys! Been creeping here for a while ...just now joined. I own a 1996 ecsb v6 2wd truck.
It'll be my semi daily driver. I have a car for work, but will take the truck a few times a week.
It's only got 115k miles and has been very well taken care of. The v6 in it is super sluggish.

I'm going to swap in a v8 and sticking with the v6 transmission and installing a shift kit. I'm having a time deciding on which motor. Either a 4.8lsx or a 350 vortec. MAYBE a 5.3 if the transmission will handle it. I can get a pullout vortec motor for $400, and a pullout lsx for 700.
Was wanting to go with an 0411 computer. And maybe a 4l80e in a year or so.

HELP! I'll be doing this all by myself.

Re: Help deciding!

I'd honestly do the 5.3... I had a 5.3 in my 70 c10 with a junkyard t5 behind it out of an s10 with unknown miles and it lasted quite a bit. The input shaft bearing blew up to pieces so I rebuilt it and lasted since then. I had sold the truck since then and it's still going strong. I hot Rodded the heck outta that truck.
