Here is my Build thread.
The first Picture is of my Grandpa's truck.
I loved riding in that truck.
These are some of the reasons why
I decided to build this Truck.
My Daddy also bought a 67 long bed
that I drove when I was 10 or 11 years old.

I will add to this part of the Story in the future.
So I'm building a 1 Ton Chevrolet
Crew Cab with small back window
with Suburban doors.

Looks like a good start, what are you doing for the engine?

Re: 67 (Crew Cab) C30

My Engine of choice currently is a SBC 350 crate engine.

Cool project but I think The RocknRod was trying to point you to the 67-72 area since your posting in the 60-66 one at moment.

Looking good man. I loved my 70 c30 dump truck. I sold it to my buddy so I get to drive it every once and I while.

It looks like you got a pile of work ahead of you. What are the plans of making it a quad cab. Find another cab or suburban to carve up. There's a couple suburbans were I'm at for fairly cheap they would of worked great for your project.

I got Suburban doors a b-pillars from Richard2717
I will replace the whole front floor pan .
Then cut the cab and add rear floor
and use sheetmetal from another cab for the roof.
I may have a Suburban showing up at Christmas

Hey Getter-Done, Cool project. looking forward to more photos of your progress. Would it be easier or even possible to cut a suburban body rather than extend a pickup cab? I have never attempted a project like yours so I am just wondering if that is an option.

Getter-Done 11-27-2018 07:22 PM

Re: 67 (Crew Cab) C30

Thanks 62bagger
Yes it can be done either way.
Several guys on here Have Great build threads
that have done the 2 cab option and also the suburban body.
Randy and Trevor was the two builds that
was my deciding factor for me to go with a crew cab
instead of my original plan of a flatbed truck.
I have also been studying a few other members that have built
the crew-cab also.
I will make my decision if I drag that Suburban home
after Christmas.

Thanks Michael
I know my plans will change along the way.
Both cabs I have are small window.
So my plan is Crew Cab with Suburban doors,
cab lights and small back window.
The rear door will have the same radius (curve)
at the top of the door as the truck door.
A fleet-side bed with Step-side fenders attached
because I plan to keep the dual wheel rear axle.

Re: 67 (Crew Cab) C30

I don't think I explained in my build how I made the driver side B pillar from a donor passenger one which I think I bought from Richard too.
Its super easy and is almost identical to the passenger side after cutting and rewelding. Do you remember if I posted about it?
Basically I cut the pillar in about 5 sections and flipped them over and to the left then rewelded them together, the 5 sections are all straight when cut and then when flipped they make a mirror image.
Inside the B pillar is a hing reinforcing plate, I did the same with it but cut it in 3 section I think.
The hinges I just flipped over and drilled one new hole on the door side to match my million piece door.

If I didn't post about it, I can do it and number the sections with pictures.
The upper half (door frame section) of the B pillar I just used as is, the seam is in the front vs the rear on the other side.

Just ask if you have any questions about what I did or what I might have done differently.

Sounds like you have a great plan and a good start.
