1972 Stock Ride Height
Can anybody give me the stock ride height measurement for a 1972 C10 2wd. Center of the wheel to fender lip on front and back.
I've searched the forum and found lots of threads dealing with drop from 1" to 5" but no info on the starting point. I may want to "lift" a lowered truck a bit but without knowing how much it's already dropped don't know what I need to raise it a couple of inches.. Hope that makes sense.. Thanks |

Long or Shortbed?
This will be interesting to see, when guys post up I'm away now, but when I get back home I'll see if I can post some pics for you |

Short bed..
I'm going to need to get it back up, at least a little. The drop simply was not done correctly (I don't think)) and I doubt it has 2" of suspension travel. |

Re: 1972 Stock Ride Height
Keep in mind the variances with different trucks/spring types, and different sag distances. Mine probably won't be a great example but I'll give you the numbers anyway. It is a long bed leaf spring setup and is 19-20 inches (it is exactly 19 right now but there is some stuff in the bed)from fender lip to wheel center in the rear. The front is 20 inches but I have stock big block heavy springs and the big block is swapped out for a small block 350, so that will jack it up an inch or two I would guess. You will need a couple others to chime in to get a good read on it.

I had this image saved but, I think it is a '68. You can find the info in the service manuals. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=558016 |
