Building a Blazer - vtblazer's Way

Finally time to consolidate some ongoing threads used to reach this build.

Here's the grand list:

'69 all original Cali tub

Original sheet metal 'cept for the cowl induction hood I'm going to order from Tri-Pro

One ton axles w/4:56 gears and a locker

Worked 700r and a 241 T-case

Alcan springs

37" MTR's

H2 wheels

PRP seats

Full cage

Single walled top

Fuel injected with over drive

Heading to Greg's on Friday to get things rolling. (literally)

Currently the frame is in his basement and the tub is down at his old house on the trailer.
I'm bringing down my one ton axles with me and we're hoping to install some suspension and mount the axles, so it's at least a roller.

No doors, no tail gate and no drive train but it's all good, I have the rest.

I think i've asked before but where did you get your one ton's from and how much if you don't mind me asking. Oh and is this truck intended for a rock crawler, I thought you already had one of those.

My one ton's are from an 86 CUCV truck, I paid $1100.00 for the set.

The focus for this build is to make a driver, meaning a blazer I can drive with comfort and have excellent reliability.
Fun comes into it too with those 4:56 gears, it should accelerate damn good.

It will also have a good cruise RPM's @ 65mph and comfy seats for those road trips and a low/low that comes close to rivalling a doubler set-up with a ratio of 79:1, for the days I choose to do a little wondering in the hills.

Gotcha! What year is this thing going to really be, a 69 tub but what front end and chassis??

Didn't you recently have a very nice green blazer that you could have pretty much done the same thing too? Or do you still have that and want to keep it as a stocker? This will be one heck of a blazer though with those plans.

The green one sold last year. He's building this one as more of a resto-rod.
