reduced engine power

I have a 2003 3500 4X4 regular cab, 6.0 engine with 4L80 auto. just had to have the transmission changed as the owner before me plowed in high range, drive and it played hell on the internals but I didn't know this at the time of purchase. Now the check engine light comes on and the message "Reduced Engine Power", and the truck will shut off. now the transmission shop says they have never encounter this before. they went back and checked all the connections to transmission and found a faulty ground from the firewall to the transmission, they replaced it but we still are having this problem. I think myself it is a grounding problem, can anyone here tell me where the grounds are located that might have been disturbed when changing the trans out?
thanks

Usually that light will come on when there is a dbw problem. There will be codes stored in the pcm. What are they?

check engine light did come on the same time that the message came up, don't know codes as I called the trans shop and they came and picked it up

thanks for all the input
