It's nice having a neighbor who has a shop to work in. He has a bunch of nice stuff and he lets be use it anytime I need to. The bumper I think i perfect for the truck.;) |
Re: The Pusher!
yep, my tire guy has a cheatah blaster on his rig.. 19.5s, 22.5s, 24.5s, etc..
in your garage by yourself, try wrapping a ratchet strap around the circumference and cinch it up.. beats starting fluid and hair spray.. LoL, google that on boobtube.. do like the push bumper! |
Re: The Pusher!
Looks totally natural -- like it's been on the front for 20 years already.
All you need now is a cop spot for the drivers side A pillar. |
Re: The Pusher!
Looks good! Reminds me of something “Crazy Cooter” would drive

Re: The Pusher!
Looks great on there. Did that come off of a 71/72? I see they blinker is blocking the original ones. 71/72s always need new signals when the bumper gets changed. I had the factory ones behind the grille on my /71 wrecker. I think it had the exact same bumper.

Yes it came off a 71-72 truck wrecker. Mine came off the white truck. I got to find me a cool tag for it! "The Pusher" He has another one also. It's a 73 up body though. I wired the bumper lights into the orignial lights so they all work for now. My thought is the more lights the better!:chevy: |

They also sell the spots, but a lot cheaper if you find a junkyard score. I got lucky and found a few on movie sets, either old discarded props, or still attached to picture cars that got blown up, and after wrap were destined for the crusher. No one cared if I ''swagged'' them. Tempted to mount one in my '71 Jimmy, but bad blazer-windshield-corner- cancer has already weakened the structure and I would not trust it until I re-mount the rollbar. |
Re: The Pusher!
It would be sweet to have one and I think just maybe my dad may have one. I remember him having one some years ago but I think we put it on the boat.
I have a couple of round LED lights I want to mount on it also.:chevy: |

Those running light/blinkers definitely show better. If they weren't in front of the originals you'd have mo' lights! My old wrecker had a C10 cab swapped on with no clearance lamps. I never put any on before I started thinking I should sell it. I wanted to put some on and some other extra lights. I have a pillar-mount spotlight I had for it to put on my K2500. Here is that one's bumper. The lights from the bumper are in the upper corners. The way the fins in the grille work, those lights will fit in six boxes. I did that on a '71 with snow plow I had because I made a steel bumper.

Looks good! I got to get tie downs for it and some wheel holder's to I guess before I start hauling anything with it. I got to get the tilt in also. It's out of a van so I have to knock the pins out of it to work. Clean it up and repaint it. I need the collar for it also are take it a part and cut the tab off.:chevy: |
Re: The Pusher!
Been gone a week jumped in the ramp truck 24* outside and hit the gas pedal twice and it fired right up!
Going to try and get the tilt wheel installed this weekend if it warms up enough to work on it.:chevy: |
Re: The Pusher!
I got the turn signal switch for the tilt wheel ordered should be here today it says.
Last night my son dropped off 3 more like new 16" tires for it. So now I have all new tires with a spare.:chevy: |

I have been working on the pusher on/off for over a year now. I got the tilt in and a spot light along with the winch and more lights on the back along with LED tail lights. 90's model bench seat. It's come a long way but has a lot further to go.
Still no disc brakes though up front.:chevy: |
Re: The Pusher!
Looks great! Got the same seat in mine.

Re: The Pusher!
Hey Andy, I want to put a spotlight in Blue. I was a bit worried about how intrusive it will be inside the cab. How do you like yours?

With the tilt wheel it's not even noticed. I can drive with work gloves and not be in the way. I could push it out a little more if I wanted but I didn't want it sticking out where people walking by would hit it.:chevy: |
