It certainly does look built for a specific purpose, but what that application may be seems unclear.

As a joke I've been threatening to build a "post apocalyptic family transporter" (something to haul the family through waves of blood thirsty zombies or roving highway men ah la Madmax). I think someone beat me to it...

Few more. I like the frenched tailights. The rat rod 64-66 is quite different. Pretty hard to pull off with such a large cab.

I saw a picture of my dad with a van that looked like that back in the day.
Man Cali in the late 70's was an interesting place......I can see the jean shorts and wraparound shades now....

I don't have a pic of it, but Frizle Fry's use of a stepside fender for an inner fender on his stepside build is one of the coolest I've seen. Not to mention he reworked the wheel arch to match the Corvette.
