Who makes a decent 100 amp internally regulated alternator???
My new 72 4x4 still has the old style externally regulated alternator and I would like to convert it. I've read about this MAD kit and it looks like everything I would need: http://www.madelectrical.com/catalog/alt-1.shtml I would like to get a 100 amp and want a decent one that will last. I've not had good luck with Napa alternators so I think I will stay away from them. What brands do you recommend?

treat Westling brand like a venerial disease. if you get a Delco, get 2. one is bound to be bad. when I worked in Ill. we used Orange County with not a single failure in 2.5 years I was there.
how about getting one from bone-yard & having it redone by local rebuilder? they seem to do a better job. |
Try these guys. I bought a mini starter from them, they treated me right.

Good Luck.
I recently had to get a new alternator for the S-10. (105 amps). Anyway after 2 brand new ones out of the box that were junk I finally got a good one on the third try. All of them were Autolite brand. :flag: |
