I have been a member here for a month, and have looked at all of your trucks, but haven't got mine on here yet. Well, here they are.

This is my 1972 chevy. It was orginally blue and white, but now is hugger orange. the only original parts are the cab and frame, with an entire goodmark front end, front bumper, roll pan and a aftermarket tailgate, electric front seat and steering wheel from a 94, autometer ultra light gauges (Don't laugh at my rat's nest, i just finished putting them in this weekend) and 8 inch american racing wheels with 255 60's all around (should have gone with 275's, but i guess i'll have to wait until next go around.

It had an orginal 402, which received a total build up with a rough idle cam, flat top hyperutetic (sp) pistons, hei ignition, 750 eld carb and performer rpm intake.

this is my 69, i bought it from the original owner, and it only has 76000 miles. it is pretty basic with a 350/350 and ps/pb and that is as long as the list of options is on this one. I really like this truck since it is all there and is a solid base for a project.

griesel72 05-06-2003 05:25 PM

actually, dabeers, my disk corrupted with my last pic, and i can't for the life of me find another one, so you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see the heart of this beast

Nice truck! I agree w/dabeers, I wanna see the engine!

SPECTACULAR!!!!
Well done ...not over done

275 question for ya if you don't mind...I just found a set of 275/r60 's in the shop that I used to have on a 95 Sierra. I noticed you had wished you would have opted for them. When I held them up to the front of my 70 GMC it looked like a close fit. Do you think I would have any rubbing problems?

FRENCHBLUE72 05-06-2003 07:23 PM

Very nice truck I guesss i should get off the computer and work on mine the sun is finally out.

griesel72 05-06-2003 07:46 PM

buckola,

After looking at numerous other trucks with 275/60 15's , i have concluded that it is possibly the best size for a non lowered truck with 8 inch wheels. I have looked at over 15 of these trucks with this size tire, and none of them had any problems. As long as you truck isn't lowered they will fit fine. But , if someone has gotten smart and heated or cut your coils before you got it, this may be another story.

Good Luck

David

Goodmark Question

Does goodmark have a catalog?

griesel72 05-06-2003 09:38 PM

warbones,

yeah, goodmark has a catalog, but you have to go to their website @

www.goodmarkindustries.com

I wanted as close to original parts as the ones i took off, and goodmark is gm approved for fit and quality.

good luck

:D LOOKS SUPER:D

Sweet color, Was it Green before or just the fenders?

Just curious..... Approx what did the $$$ Approx for it

Nova_Cobra64 05-06-2003 10:37 PM

Beautiful truck. However, there is only one thing I can be critical about.....I think the exhaust tips would look much better straight out the back seeing that they sort of look awkward going out the side with the roll pan on there.

SEVEND2 05-06-2003 11:25 PM

aye, had to look again, I hate to put this in for such a beautiful truck, I am sure everyone can tear mine apart with things too

I just have to add I would have added the exhaust to come out infront of the rear tires and left the back open since there is a roll pan

Just my humble opinion

griesel72 05-07-2003 10:54 AM

Actually, i really planned on having my exhaust professionally done, this one was built out of about 6 complete exhausts, cut where we needed angles. I just haven't gotten around to taking it to get done.

I'm not really sure how much money went into this one (not sure i want to know) but somewhere around 4,000 with all new parts and engine rebuild. Everything on this truck was done by me and one of you buddies, and it probably cost me more in beer than parts. We even rebuilt the motor and trans and did all the body work.

That's a very impressive truck. Literally said "wow" when the pics popped up.

mocwon 05-08-2003 01:21 PM

Nice, nery nice. Is that a 60/40 seat, if so what is it out of?

griesel72 05-08-2003 01:55 PM

mocone,

It is a 60-40 split bench out of a 94 chevy silverado It is electric, which is nice if i would just hook it up.

Guages

Griesel72,

What do you figure you have in the guages, $$ wise? I would like to get me an extra bezel and start the project myself, but I don't even have the truck back together yet.
