EXHAUST IS DONE!!!
I got 2 -45 degree elbows and got them installed. The tail pipes are heading up hill but I did not like the look of the pipes level. They looked to low.
Parts list.
Heartthrob pipe kit $149.00
Summit(flow master clones) $50 ($25 each)
4 summit exhaust clamps 7$ each
2-45 degree fittings $13.
For 250$ not bad. I will try and post video of the first start up if I can.
I also got the AC delco plugs gapped at .045 and installed with the wires.

I am hoping to get the front clip on tomorrow. Maybe even running by the weekend.

I had to move the rear brake line tee to the top of the diff. It was right where the passenger exhaust needed to go. Can tell it was a single pipe out the back from stock. This kit even has room for the spare tire underneath.

Got the front clip hung but need to completely shim the cab since I have replaced all the bushings. The cab needs to be lifted about 1/4" in the front. I will try and get shims made tomorrow in aluminum. After I get them installed I am sure I will be adjusting the doors.

The PO had just cut what looks like pieces of a tire between 2 big washers for the front body mounts.

Looks like I have the perfect amount of room between the fan and the radiator support.

Front looks mean. The little bit of height added to the truck makes a lot of difference.
The width of the front also.

Truck looks great!

On the shims if you go to Home Depot/Lowes ect where the concrete pier block hardware is, they have hardened steel galvanized square washers that are used for the screw adjusters that are about 1/4" thick, similar to the link here but thicker, the hole is large enough to allow body bolts and possibly the mounts center spacers too..

Mike that would have worked great and save me time. But I cut aluminum and made basically what you shared in the links. Thank you

I have been working to get this thing done. Consuming all my extra time. All I have to do is finish the transmission lines to the radiator and should be ready to hit the switch and see what happens.

OK so I got the the dizzy clocked and got the truck started. I took a video but not sure how to attached or load it. You tube is best I think.... when I get time I will try and post.
this truck has so many little crazy things go wrong or give me fits I am tired of this truck!!! I love working on them but man every time I turn around somethings a miss with this thing not that it cant be fixed but just takes an extra hour..... I even had a the key switch stop working, turn it all day and some times the accessory would work sometimes not, sometimes start and sometimes not. Before the build it didn't have a problem... so I had an extra one from my sons truck that I replaced with the new harness... changed it out and now it is working great.

not a very good picture but look how close the fan is to the upper radiator hose. I am thinking about making a hard line like the original 4x4 trucks had. if not I need to install a brace or make a fan shroud.
After the picture was taken I loosened the clamp at the radiator and rotated the hose away from the fan. That worked pretty good but still needs something!

Don't drive it like that. That fan will eat that hose for lunch. Trust me I've made that mistake. I would highly recommended a fan shroud.
By the way good job on everything. I've been watching your build.

Thank you JS...
I rotated the radiator hose so its not that close anymore... I will be putting and fan spacer to move the fan closer to the radiator. This will give me a lot of room between the fan and hose, and help with cooling also as I have 3+" from the fan to the radiator. The plan is to find a shroud or make one.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"

The saga continues with this damn truck....starting to get pissed off!!!!

Every time I turn around something funky goes wrong.

The truck was running GREAT every thing checked and double checked, so I thought I would see if I could put the truck in gear. When I did I heard a little bit of noise like a whine, but it went in forward and reverse gears fine.
I checked the fluids and it was about 1/2 qt low so I topped it off. Tried it again and still a whine. So I called the trans shop and talked to the guy that rebuilt it and he told me to check the TC to Flex plate gap that sometimes mix matching old and new motors, transmissions and TC you have to shim. Well I noticed a little gap when I originally matted the trans to the engine but research it and a little bit of gap is ok. So I just bolted it up. Now I thought well I would just disconnect the TC from the flex plate and when I did I noticed that the TC was hard to spin for about 1/4 turn and then the TC moved towards the transmission and spun freely like it should. Now there is about .2" of gap. so I got 1/4" longer bolts and .2" spacer and installed them.... I felt like that was a positive move and that it would be the reason for the whine...

Now time to start the motor to see if the noise was there when I put in gear.
Hit the starter and the motor fires up and making a loud taping sound in the back of the motor... I was like what the hell??? so I checked for oil pressure (it was good) and shut the truck off... Thinking it was something hitting around the TC area. I looked and couldn't see anything or could think of anything I could have done to cause that noise. I unbolted the flex plate from the TC and started it up.... Noise still there... The day before it ran great. So in my mind I am thinking the worst....now I am thinking rocker stud pulled or something major in the valve train, but the sound is in the back of the motor not on 1 side or the other. I have a mechanic friend I work with coming to look at it this weekend.
I will keep you guys updated...

If you guys have any ideas please let me know?

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"

just like yours a "Series of unfortunate events". if I would have done a straight 350 swap with a rebuild tranny sure it would be more money but I'd be done. I'm almost 2 months into my swap and seems like every time I turn around a new issue arises.
