Thank you all for another awesome week on the Forum! It seems like a lot of guys want billet hinges! The improvement over stock is amazing! These hinges have next to no lateral slack, allowing you to align your hood much easier and have it hold in position vs the stock hinges requiring you to push down the back of the hood and it never seeming to close with the same gaps you set it at.

These are not just a "look good" item, the rigidity and smoothness is such a huge upgrade.

Hello,
unfortunately the hinges will NOT work with a factory heater or AC box on the firewall. The hinges have been designed to only work with a smooth firewall.

Do I read this correctly, a strut can be used in lieu of a spring on the stock hinge? I have a '57 3100.

No, the billet hinges use a gas strut, stock hinges must still use the spring.

What the ad means is that we have many different rates on the struts and we would send you the set based on which hood you have.

No problem. Let us know if you are interested in a set. They are SO much smoother to operate than stock. There is no lateral movement as they are bearing operated vs rivits on the stocks. This helps keep hood alignment right and not having the back of the hood lift when you close it. Obviously, they look VERY nice in comparison as well.

Yes, When an order is placed we will need to know what hood you are running that way we can make sure the correct struts are included with the hinges.
