5.3 code 1518 is driving me up the wall
 

My 82 with a 2006 5.3 with 4l60e drives fine when I'm cruising but when I floor it I get a reduced engine power. Ive checked the wiring, the wires are good the ground all good. I dont know what it can be I've even replaced the throttle body thinking that was the issue and nothing. If any one was any ideas please let me know

Most of the time, it's wiring. If you're sure that all the wiring is good, then it's probably a bad TAC module. 1518 doesn't usually set due to a TB or APP sensor problem.

Could I pull the tac off my 05 silverado just to do a test run ?

As long as the part number on the TAC module is the same, that'll work fine.

I dont think so. If I gradually press the pedal it will respond fine I've even gone up to 85mph (stock gauges) with no issues it's just when I want to mash on the gas when I get this code

I'll have to try that out I bought the engine and tranny from a guy and the pedal and tac module from another but I didn't think there was going to be an issue

Finally had time to swap the tax module from my 05 over to my 82 and still have the same issues. Do yall think it could be an issue with the tune ? I bought the pcm pre flashed from A guy off craigslist.

Sure it could be the tune if it doesn't match your TAC. What was the PCM out of? Is it a blu3e/green one? Who did the tune?

The pcm is a 411 and it had a basic tune (vats delete rear o2 deleted) I bought it off a guy on craigslist list known as sunny in Austin but I've talked to ther guys around town and apparently the guys kinda sketchy. It is a blue and green pcm by the way

No such animal as a blue/green 411 PCM. Does it actually say 12200411 on it? If it is in fact a 411, then this is your problem, they wont run an '06
tune.

My harness has the blue and green connections of that makes a diffrence.

That is your problem. Your harness shouldn't even plug in on the green side unless someone cut off the tabs on the plastic parts. You need a 2006 PCM and tune. The 411 cannot be programmed to work with your TAC and throttle body.

I see what your saying. It might be a dumb to ask this but here it goes so the 411 pcm want ment to be a drive by wire set up originally ir why isn't that it's not compatible?

The 411 PCM can be DBW, but only the older TAC's and throttle bodies. It just doesnt work on the newer style throttle bodies like you have.

Oooooo explains a lot is there any way I can pull the pcm out of my 05 silverado to test it. Or what pcm should I buy at the scrap yard?

The PCM in your truck will have VATS in it so that wont work. You need to get one for an 06 and have it tuned for your swap.

I'm pretty sure any 2005-2007 (classic) should be able to be made to work. But just put in 12602801 and that should get you what you're looking for.

I just wanted to say it was the pcm that was the issue. I went to the local scrap yard and bought a pcm out of a dbw 06 avalanche flashed it with hp tuners, and wow does my truck haul its behind.
