Here is one I took a pic of at Bonneville many years ago, street legal. When he was out putting around at the flats he was driving with his head out the top. When on the regular roads he was inside.

I posted the first one because it amused me =)

That first one did amuse me, too. I had seen it before. I guess that's a good alternative to doing rust repair. Just cut away the rusted out lower body

That second one is quite rad. Tractor wheels up front with a different lug pattern. It wasn't still VW powered was it?

I could drive this one I saw at a local swap meet. Not a fan of the drop but I'm sure it's on bags. Needs a deck lid, too. But it's very close, in color even, to my first car I ended up painting Mercedes Blue. This picture is from when I took it out of my folk's barn where it was stored while I lived on Northern California. Dusty. One of the chrome wheels had a different offset and that bugged me (no pun intended). When I bought new tires I got the white stars for cheap until I could get something better. I swear that other bug is the same color

That thing's sweet like vomit after you ate a box of Ding Dongs. And to think that I thought my VW was hacked.

Well it is... Yeah... It is. :o

But at least I can get in it and don't worry about speed bumps.

Under construction at the moment.

I like the homegrown nature of your bug. It's a real boonie basher

I watched the Thomas Crown Affair on TCM a last week. That was a nice buggy.

Boonie Basher  I think that you just named my car Tim. The Boonie Basher! :metal:

I always feel like I should go hunting or something when I'm in it.

I don't happen to have a Pith helmet or goggles handy. But I've got a long gun or 5. I do have a Stetson, sunglasses, and a corn pipe. I could look like Douglas MacArthur or one of those badazz General's back in the day. Maybe? Kinda sorta? Naw. Not in a VW.
