What about Purple?
1 Attachment(s)
Has any member seen Purple 1969 Pickups ? This truck has been painted once , but still has the original paint inside the cab and firewall etc in excellent condition. I believe they were strictly Canadian trucks only in 1969. The glove box label says only "Special Paint".

Re: Rarest Paint Color?
COOL!!!! I`m not sure if I`ve seen that one or not.Your trucks up north had some special paint colors we`ve never had down here.I love seeing them. Thanks and welcome from Maryland.

Re: Rarest Paint Color?
I haven't seen any "dark bronze irridescent" for 1970 GMCs, my truck's original color. A dark chocolate brown with fine metalflake, white skirts and roof w/ lower trim package. It was chevy orange when I got it and have since painted it "hugger" (from 1971 code chart, aka red orange from 1970 chart). Funny, the options list reads dark bronze irrid. while the chart says dark bronze poly, any difference?

Re: Rarest Paint Color?
My daughter wants her s-10 painted pink, maybe I'll go for ice coral pink, or better yet I'll dump a little red in the gallon of white I have sitting aroung and do a custom shade!

I bought a Lime Green Ploy 71 customC10 just like that one out of Regina not long ago. I just picked up all the parts to fix the usual rust on it. I hope to be driving mine this summer sometime as well. Good luck with yours. Richard |

Wow! Lots of neat stuff here.
I have seen many of these trucks and alot of the colors but never can say that I have seen the lime green, the pink or the purple's in factory paint jobs. Here is my only current truck with Specuial paint listed on the SPID. I was going to say the rarest is Med. Olive w/ White top, but I think that everyone gets that joke! LOL My favorite color is the Dark olive and Med. olive combo on 72 Cheyenne Supers witht he wood grain but my wife says the only one I own with a nice color is this one. I tell you something I rarely see is all white trucks around Missouri, but maybe that is b/c they were mostly commercial and abused. Nice stuff everyone! |

Hey 68SWB4x4, what is the number on the top of your spid there? It looks like "F71215" but usually it is an all numeric number. Could you take a look-see and see what it _really_ is? It may just be the picture not real clear there. I'm just really curious there....

Re: Rarest Paint Color?
I've never seen another WHITE GMC 69 Stepside, but I'm sure it's just a North Coast thing. White tends to show the winter sludge too much, eh? But, for all I know; it's the most common color?
