Fuel filler????

Hey guys, I am always over on the 67 - 72 forum, but this came in with some pars we bought. I was told it was the gas tank filler neck for a 48 thru 54 Chevy truck, but I have no idea. Here are some pics, if someone knows what it is and can use it, $25.00 shipped and it is yours. Thanks, Fred.

Hey Fred, that looks to have been cut off at the top,missing 3" or so and the part the cap secures onto?
