66 c50

I have a 66 C50 and was wondering if making it 4x4 is doable without spending a fortune. Can you guys point me in the right direction?

I'd say with the front drive axles for large trucks being so uncommon you'd be lucky to find one cheap, as well as the rest of the conversion parts.

Are you looking to put in a Dana 60 or a med duty axle?

Medium would probably work fine. Getting around in the snow and on the farm would be all it'd be used for. Nothing severe

The OP needs to look at the trans to see what it is (SM420?, and the rear diff to see what it is, ratio, and lug pattern. I'd also research what TC was used in that vehicle. If it's the same as used in a light duty, I'd be looking for an 465/205 combo from a later truck.

if i ever do a med duty and 4x4 my plan is to start big .

late model dodge dana 80 rear axle x2 . put 1 in the rear and make my own front axle with aftermarket outer parts and stuff . it would be king pin like a 60 but run basicly ford 550 outer stuff for the beefy like brakes / axle shaft & u-joints that are bigger than dana 60 king pin stuff .

There was (for a few years) a dana 70 front that they were putting under the Kodiak med duty truck. I think they only had 1 gear choice though---5.13s I think
