I will take some pics of mine as soon as it quits raining and I pull the tarp off of it, it is a 69 GMC Openroad motorhome,I bought it about 6 months ago

Surprisingly, once my wife saw this in person I think she wanted it more than I did. When we didn't get it the first time we saw it, I caught her searching craigslist for another one! We've got 6 camping trips in it so far. Averaged 11 mpg over Mt. Hood to eastern Oregon for a raft trip.

Sir, that is one of the best looking motorhomes I've seen so far.

What should a guy expect to pay for one of these in unrestored but good mechanical condition?

Classic academic answer: it depends.

I've been monitoring the (US) market for about a year and a half now. C30 motorhomes in good-very good condition (both mechanically and inside/outside) are usually offered for roughly $5-8.000. Many seem to struggle selling them, though.

For instance, this one has been for sale for a very long time now (C30 priced at $7.500, allegedly in "excellent condition").

I've seen a few go for more, but then the buyer seem to be a) liquid and b) very keen to have that particular piece.

The challenge is, one can get a full-size motorhome built on a C30 van chassis for much less ($2-4.000) in a significantly better condition. Thus, the buyer must really want a pickup-based motorhome AND willing to pay more (=minority).

Fords go much cheaper too. ;)

Yeah, I don't live far from that one. I have it on my radar, but it's pretty obvious that it's not the original mileage as they claim. I'm in contact with them, but in my mind, they are about $2500 overpriced.

I am keepin it on my list also, I think it's really pretty nice - but to be honest, when it comes to actually buying one, I prefer a TH400 and 71+ for factory disks. As much as I like wrenching on trucks, the less wrenching I have to do on a motor home to add disks or add a/c or swap an auto trans, the more time I can spend actually using it. Ha. Cool truck. So, if the seller ever frequents this site, he now knows at least three people are looking and will probably raise the price! Quick, delete this thread! :lol:

And I agree, this one is a little overpriced, but it sounds as though it's quite negotiable. Prices are relatively low anyway for what you're getting for your money because the market for them is so small - most folks don't have room to leave a class c motor home lying around the property. I'd have to kick multi vehicles out into the cold just to get this one into the barn for an oil change - if it could even make it thru the door.

You guys read my mind. If it'd be a -71 or -72, it might be worth $5.000. For me.

However, for that one I'd offer $4.000. Judging by the pictures (only), you'd need to invest about $2.000 in it to have it road- and campingworthy. Depending on one's standards/needs, of course. It'd need at least a new set of tires and loads of technical attention. The gas and water systems might be real money pits.

I'm a bit price-sensitive though, since I've probably seen too many good ones for $5-6.000... Registered and ready for camping.

But now we're drifting off-topic.

I can take no credit for it. A man named Gary gets that. It's got 50,000 original miles. And everything inside minus the furnace is original. I am not ashamed to admit I paid $12,000 for it. At first I was sure I wouldn't pay more than $8,000. Then I got some good advice on this forum. after last summers camping adventures with my 3 kids, wife, and trusty Trigger the dog, I'll tell you I didn't pay enough for it!

The day we got it. In laws we're watching the kids. We Told them we were going antique shopping. Pulled up and dropped the deck. It was a big hit!
