Balljoint Question
 

Can anyone confirm if the ball joints are the same for all blazers from 1969- the 1980s? I am interested in this kit for my 70 Blazer... I think my front diff may be 71 or 72 because it has disc brakes.

The ball joints are used from 70-87 but I would get the spicer ball joints they are sealed also comes in a kit like that.

Thank you, these ones? What is the benefit? I'm looking for longevity for a driver.

They are sealed which keeps water and dirt out there by giving you a longer life also made in the usa so good materials. I used spicer ball joints on my offroad jeep for that one reason. I have used moog in the past but had same trouble getting them pressed into the knuckle. Like everything else that is my opinion.

I like the spicer as well and just replaced mine. I got mine from Summit racing. They also aren’t knurled. Be aware if you pull yours and they are knurled you will likely have to put knurled back in. Moogs are knurled. I’ve heard from several sources once you use the knurled you can’t go back to the smooth kind like the spicer.

i put Moog in when i rebuilt my front diff... They went right into the knuckle... i have read a few people saying they think they are too tight when torqued to spec... but i figured ill run them and see what happens... I can turn them fairly easy manually...

There’s a ton of opinions. I’ve heard bad and good things about the Spicer. For me it just came down to them being smooth. Moog have good and bad reviews as well so it’s a bit of a crap shoot. If they fail they aren’t to hard to swap once you know how to do it. I have a press so my came out and went in with ease.

Thanks for the heads up about the knurling. I already ordered the kit with the Spicer ball joints. Hope to have themby next weekend so I can install them while I'm in town.
