Re: Headlight Switch
Sometimes I have had to push the button on the side that releases the knob to get them back in.

Re: Headlight Switch
Tried that Jimmy but they just keep coming out.
It has to be something Im doing wrong, it cant be that Ive got 3 faulty switches, but what? Its not like its rocket science here, stick it in and it clicks in place. |
Re: Headlight Switch
there was a switch change in 64 or later? The rods are different lengths. The early one is longer if i remember right. Maybe somebody else will chime in with some info.

Re: Headlight Switch
Those shafts don't look right. The ones Ive worked with were triangular shaped & had a pointed end with a groove near the end.

Re: Headlight Switch
They are triangular with a point and a slot. Tried them again tonight and they will not lock in place no matter what I do. There is still plenty of length to go in so its not like they are too short.
I must be doing something wrong but I cant figure it out! |
Re: Headlight Switch
I struggle every time both ways.

Re: Headlight Switch
Crazy think is the one on my 77 C3 just slipped in and locked in place. I just cant get this to do that.

Re: Headlight Switch
Did the slider part inside the switch, which receives the shaft (giggity), get pushed down to the "off" position?
I accidentally pushed mine down when trying to reinsert the shaft/knob and couldn't get it to seat or stay put. I ended up prying the switch housing open and moving the slider thing back up to the "on" position, put back together, held the lock button in, and the shaft dropped right in like it should have. |

That worked a treat. I must have pushed the switch inside each time I tried to install the actuator for the first time. I noticed with the last one the button seemed to go so far then stock but if you pressed a little more it went a bit further. I guess I wasnt pressing it hard enough. |
Re: Headlight Switch
Awesome! Glad you got it back together. Those switches are frustrating.

Re: Headlight Switch
