Adapting throttle rod to new carburetor...

This one was a pain when I had to convert from 2bbl Rochester to a 4bbl Edelbrock 1406 (electric choke 600 cfm). The throttle rod from the gas petal linkage has no where to go with the new carburetor, so you need some sort of adapter to connect the throttle rod to the linkage. Here's what I used:

Mr Gasket #1512. I took the bushing you see between the two washers and opened the center with a 1/4" drill bit. The bushing has a lip on one side (looks like one of the "washers" in the picture), and fits perfectly in the throttle linkage on the carburetor. The throttle rod will fit right through, and using a new washer on the other side of the linkage you can use a simple cotter pin to go through the throttle rod and you're done! All you need now is a throttle return spring.

Here's what the Mr. Gasket adapter kit looks like assembled:

...and here's what it looks like finished.

Cobalt, thanks for the post!. I'm assuming you only used the "bushing" itself and not the rest judging by the pic?

Yep. I could have fabbed something up, but I got the whole thing to see what part I could use. Turns out the bushing was perfectly sized (in thickness) to fit inside the throttle linkage. Only the rod was too thick, so I had to open the hole. Once that was done it worked perfectly.
