Need help, steel gauge, thickness of cargo bed floor for Blazer/Jimmy

Seriously looking at replacing the cargo bed floor in my Jimmy with a reproduction. Probably from GMCPauls.

The GMC Pauls website list the steel thickness as 18 gauge.
They list the truck bed floor as 16 gauge.

But the original cargo floor on mine really looks like 16 gauge.
Looks like the original cargo floor, not one modified from a truck floor.

What is the original steel gauge, thickness of the cargo floor for the Blazer/Jimmy from the factory

Send him an email. I bet the 18 could be a mistake?

Interesting if it is not the weekend I usually receive a reply the same day and usually in a few hours? If it is the weekend, they reply on Monday.

18 gauge, it was a typo in the SWB description. I spoke with the ladies in the office and Sky said she responded to someone that emailed asking about this earlier this week and we then corrected the SWB description, so you might check your spam or bulk email folder if your the 1 she replied to ( She replied to a Terry regarding this yesterday Feb 27 at 11:45 AM according to our sent folder, and she was replying to email that was received Feb2 6th at 09:12:16 PM EST so she replied just over 2 hours after our opening the day after email was received accoding to our email sent folder ) . These are original gauge steel and all 3 styles of steel floors are only made by 1 manufacturer for multiple suppliers which is actually rare as most sheet metal available has at least 2-3 manufacturers with many having 5-6 or more when you get into patch panels.

Metal thickness is around 18g. I say around because automotive stampings are not based on a standard gage of metal. The designer determines how thick the metal needs to be, and thicknesses vary depending on application. Tool Maker for 30 years in automotive stampings.

Paul at GMC Pauls,

Thank you for the reply posting. Not surprised, you have a great reputation on the forum.

I never got the email reply from Sky. I just went into my email including spam, junk mail and double checked. I believe that she did reply as you stated. But as we all know the internet and email is not 100% perfect like we expect it to be.

Not surprised there is only one manufacturer. I actually thought that was the case based on my research.

Since the email is a problem, would you please PM me or text me the shipping cost. I will PM you now with my telephone number, plus my email address again.

Hemi43 - thanks for your post. Did know that since I am a hands on retired mechanical engineer who worked at John Deere for a long time. My best friend worked in our largest stamping facility.
